Wat Pho (Temple of the reclinging Buddha)

The largest reclining Buddha in Thailand. Buddha consumes his shelter at 46m long and 15m high covered in gold leaf. The Buddha's feet are 3 metres long and exquisitely decorated in mother-of-pearl illustrations of the 108 auspicious 'laksanas' (characteristics) of the true Buddha.

Reclining Buddha illustrates the passing of the Buddha into nirvana (ie Buddha's death).

Pete and I bought (made a donation) for a ceiling tile and put our names on it for it to go on the roof. We also made a donation and you get this cup with 1/4 Baht coins to drop into a series of 108 metal pots for good luck. As people walked down the line dropping their coins in, it made a very cool noise!

Did you put Gid and Babe of the Royal Guard on it?
